An automatic beverage brewing apparatus which includes a brew chamber having an inlet and an outlet and a water distribution system associated with the brew chamber for introducing brew water and flush water therein. A filter assembly is disposed in the brew chamber. An opening is formed through the filter assembly for communicating with the outlet of the brew chamber. A flush water dispenser is associated with the water distribution system and is positioned centrally in the brew chamber for rinsing inside surfaces of the brew chamber. A piston assembly disposed in the brew chamber including a spool and a device for controllably moving the spool in axial and rotary directions. The spool includes a head, a base, and a necked portion extending between the head and the base. The spool is disposed in the brew chamber with the head controllably movable in the inlet and the base controllably movable in the outlet for controllably opening and plugging the inlet and outlet. A port is formed through an exterior surface of the spool between the head and the necked portion. The port is associated with the flush water dispenser for dispensing flush water therethrough. The invention also provides an apparatus and a method for producing large quantities of a desired brewed beverage. Multiple substance dispensers are provided to selectively combine a variety of substances to produce a desired brewed beverage. Heated water is conserved by the present invention by providing a control valve on the inlet line at the lower portion of the heated water reservoir.
An automatic beverage brewing apparatus for brewing large quantities of a brewed beverage and for conserving heated water, said automatic beverage brewing apparatus comprising:
A beverage brewing apparatus for brewing large quantities of a brewed beverage, said beverage brewing apparatus comprising:
A beverage brewing apparatus for brewing large quantities of a brewed beverage, said beverage brewing apparatus comprising:
A brewing apparatus for brewing large quantities of a brewed beverage, said beverage brewing apparatus comprising:
An automatic beverage brewing apparatus for conserving heated water, said automatic beverage brewing apparatus including:
An apparatus for brewing large quantities of a brewed beverage comprising a brewing chamber having an inlet and an outlet, means for selectively delivering brewing substances to said brewing chamber, a filter within said brewing chamber for retaining the brewing substance therein, means for delivering brewing water during a brewing cycle to said chamber, means providing a beverage path from said chamber outlet to a beverage container, and means for controllably dispensing a quantity of water into said brew chamber prior to dispensing of a brewing substance therein, said quantity of water being sufficient to wet the filter and less than the quantity required to brew the beverage for reducing any tendency of the brewing substance to adhere to the filter.
An apparatus for brewing a brewed beverage comprising means defining a brew chamber, a brew line communicating with said chamber for delivering heated water to said chamber to infuse a brewing substance therein during a brewing cycle, a rinse line communicating with said brewing chamber for delivering unheated water to said brewing chamber for rinsing the chamber after a beverage has been brewed, and control means for controllably dispensing selected quantities of heated water through said brew line for infusing a brewing substance during a brewing cycle and for subsequently delivering a quantity of heated water to the brew chamber sufficient to increase the temperature of the brewing chamber and equalizing pressure reduction therein during flushing of the brewing chamber.
