Abstract
Accumulation of pitch or stickies in pulp or paper making is controlled by applying to the pulp or paper making equipment which is not in continuous contact with water separately a water soluble cationic polymer and a water soluble anionic polymer.

A method for controlling pitch or stickies deposits on pulp or papermaking equipment surfaces which comprises applying to the equipment surfaces which are not in continuous contact with water a water soluble cationic polymer and a water soluble anionic polymer wherein the cationic polymer and the anionic polymer are applied separately.
