Cinnamamide derivative

A cinnamamide derivative of formula I or the salts thereof:

• ##STR115## wherein R.sup.1 is selected from the group consisting of alkyl having 1 to 8 carbon atoms;
• --(CN.sub.2).sub.n 1COR.sup.3,
• wherein R.sup.3 is --OH, --OR.sup.4 (R.sup.4 is alkyl having 1 to 3 carbon atoms, --NHR.sup.5 (R.sup.5 is alkyl having 1 to 3 carbon atoms), --NH(CH.sub.2).sub.n 2--C.sub.6 H.sub.5 (n.sup.2 is an integer of 0 to 3), or --NHNH--C.sub.6 H.sub.5, and n.sup.1 is an integer of 1 to 3;
• ##STR116## wherein R.sup.8 is alkyl having 1 to 5 carbon atoms, --(CH.sub.2).sub.n 4COOR.sup.10 (R.sup.10 is hydrogen or alkyl having 1 to 3 carbon atoms, and n.sup.4 is an integer of 1 to 3), phenyl or hydroxyphenyl, and R.sup.9 is --OH, or --OR.sup.11 (R.sup.11 is an alkyl having 1 to 3 carbon atoms);
• --(CH.sub.2).sub.n 7OR.sup.12,
• wherein R.sup.12 is hydrogen, alkyl having 1 to 3 carbon atoms, --CONHR.sup.13 (R.sup.13 is alkyl having 1 to 5 carbon atoms), or --COR.sup.14 (R.sup.14 is phenyl, halogen-substituted phenyl), and n.sup.7 is an integer of 1 to 3;
• --(CH.sub.2).sub.n 8SR.sup.15,
• wherein R.sup.15 is hydrogen, --(CH.sub.2).sub.n 9COOR.sup.17 (R.sup.17 is alkyl having 1 to 3 carbon atoms and n.sup.9 is an integer of 0 to 3), or --(CH.sub.2).sub.n 11R.sup.18 (R.sup.18 is phenyl, and n.sup.11 is an integer of 0 to 3), and n.sup.8 is an integer of 1 to 3;
• --(CH.sub.2).sub.n 12NHR.sup.19,
• wherein R.sup.19 is ##STR117## (R.sup.20 is hydrogen or alkyl having 1 to 3 carbon atoms), and n.sup.12 is an integer of 1 to 3;
• ##STR118## wherein R.sup.22 is phenyl, hydroxyphenyl, and n.sup.13 is an integer of 1 to 3;
• ##STR119## wherein R.sup.23 is --OH or phenyl, and n.sup.14 is an integer of 1 to 3;
• ##STR120## wherein R.sup.24 is alkyl having 1 to 3 carbon atoms, phenyl, or --CN;
• ##STR121## wherein R.sup.25 is ##STR122## and n.sup.15 is an integer of 0 to 3;
• --(CH.sub.2).sub.n 18R.sup.28,
• wherein R.sup.28 is --CN, ##STR123## (R.sup.29 and R.sup.30 are independently alkyl having 1 to 3 carbon atoms), ##STR124## wherein R.sup.31 is hydrogen, halogen, --NO.sub.2, --COOH, COOR.sup.3 wherein R.sup.33 is alkyl containing 1 to 3 carbon atoms, or --OR.sup.34 wherein R.sup.34 is alkyl containing 1 to 3 carbon atoms and R.sup.32 is hydrogen or OR.sup.35 wherein R.sup.35 is alkyl containing 1 to 3 carbon atoms, ##STR125## (R.sup.36 and R.sup.37 are independently alkyl having 1 to 3 carbon atoms), and n.sup.18 is an integer of 0 to 3;
• ##STR126## wherein R.sup.39, R.sup.40 and R.sup.41 are independently alkyl having 1 to 3 carbon atoms;
• ##STR127## naphthyl;
• indanyl;
• tetralinyl;
• and
• --COR.sup.42,
• wherein R.sup.42 is alkyl having 1 to 3 carbon atoms;
• and
• when R.sup.1 is an alkyl group, R.sup.2 is --(CH.sub.2)n.sup.19 --C.sub.6 H.sub.5 (n.sup.19 is an integer of 1 to 3);
• or when R.sup.1 is not an alkyl group, R.sup.2 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, alkyl having 1 to 5 carbon atoms, and --(CH.sub.2).sub.n 19--C.sub.6 H.sub.5 (n.sup.19 is an integer of 1 to 3).
