Abstract

Compounds of formula ##STR1## wherein Z is oxygen or sulphur; R.sup.1 is hydrogen, halogen, alkyl or haloalkyl; R.sup.2 is hydrogen, or alkyl; q is 0 or 1; R.sup.3 is hydrogen, alkyl or alkenyl; the or each X independently is halogen, optionally substituted alkyl or alkoxy, alkenyloxy, alkynyloxy, cyano, carboxy, alkoxycarbonyl, (alkylthio)carbonyl, alkylcarbonyl, amido, alkylamido, nitro, alkylthio, haloalkylthio, alkenylthio, alkynylthio, alkylsulphinyl, alkylsulphonyl, alkyloximinoalkyl or alkenyloximinoalkyl; n is 0 or an integer from 1 to 5; the or each Y independently is a halogen, alkyl, nitro, cyano, haloalkyl, alkoxy or haloalkoxy; and m is 0 or an integer from 1 to 5, their preparation and use as herbicides.

Dependent claims

A compound of the formula I ##STR11## in which Z represents an oxygen or sulphur atom;

R.sup.1 represents a hydrogen or halogen atom or C.sub.1-6 alkyl or halo (C.sub.1-6) alkyl group;
R.sup.2 represents a hydrogen atom or a C.sub.1-6 alkyl group;
q is 0 or 1;
R.sup.3 represents a hydrogen atom or a C.sub.1-6 alkyl or C.sub.2-6 alkenyl group;
X independently represents a halogen atom or an optionally substituted C.sub.1-6 alkyl or C.sub.1-6 alkoxy group, or a C.sub.2-6 alkenyloxy, C.sub.2-6 alkynyloxy, cyano, carboxy, (C.sub.1-6 alkoxy) carbonyl, (C.sub.1-6 alkylthio) carbonyl, (C.sub.1-6 alkyl) carbonyl, amido, (C.sub.1-6 alkyl) amido, nitro, C.sub.1-6 alkylthio, halo (C.sub.1-6 alkyl) thio, C.sub.2-6 alkenylthio, C.sub.2-6 alkynylthio, C.sub.1-6 alkylsulphinyl, C.sub.1-6 alkylsulphonyl, (C.sub.1-6 alkyl) oximino (C.sub.1-6 alkyl) or (C.sub.2-6 alkenyl) oximino (C.sub.1-6 alkyl) group;
n is 0 or an integer from 1 to5;
Y independently represents a halogen atom or a C.sub.1-6 alkyl, nitro, cyano, halo (C.sub.1-6) alkyl, C.sub.1-6 alkoxy or halo (C.sub.1-6) alkoxy group;
and m is 0 or an integer from 1 to 5,
said optional substituents being selected from halogen, phenyl, cyano, amino, hydroxy, C.sub.1-6 alkoxy, and (C.sub.1-6 alkyl) amino.
