Abstract
The invention relates to the use of colloidal, stabilized silica sol as an auxiliary for stabilizing and/or increasing the activity of catalysts which show a tendency towards activity-reducing sintering under high-temperature conditions.
Claims16
A process for the production of catalysts to be exposed to high temperatures of 700.degree. C. to 1,200.degree. C., wherein colloidal silica sols of which the silicon dioxide particles partly contain bound foreign metals are incorporated into a catalyst-forming mass in quantities below 15% by weight, expressed as silicon dioxide and based on the final catalyst, as an additive during production of the catalyst before the catalyst-forming mass is exposed to temperatures which lead to sintering.
