Catalyst for hydrorefining hydrocarbon feedstocks including niobium trisulphide, said catalyst is particularly suited for the scission of carbon-nitrogen and carbon-sulphur bonds.

In a catalytic hydrorefining process for hydrorefining hydrocarbon feedstocks the improvement which comprises employing a catalyst consisting of niobium trisulfide as a catalytically active component.
