Abstract
A driver circuit (33) for output buffers or the like provides differing switching speed and di/dt depending on whether an output signal is switched in response to input signals or a control signal.
Claims15
A driver circuit comprising:
- a first transistor having a collector coupled to a first power supply voltage terminal, a base for receiving a first signal, and an emitter;
- a second transistor having a first current electrode coupled to said emitter of said first transistor and providing an output signal thereon, a control electrode for receiving a second signal, and a second current electrode coupled through a first resistor to a second power supply voltage terminal;
- a third transistor having a first current electrode coupled to said emitter of said first transistor, a control electrode for receiving a control signal, and a second current electrode coupled through a second resistor to said second power supply voltage terminal;
- and
- a fourth transistor having a first current electrode coupled to said base of said first transistor, a control electrode for receiving said control signal, and a second current electrode coupled to said second power supply voltage terminal.

A driver circuit comprising:
- dropping means for receiving first and second dropping signals and for reducing signal levels thereof by one base-to-emitter diode voltage drop to provide first and second signals, respectively;
- a first amplifier coupled to said dropping means for providing a first signal in response to a positive difference in voltage between said first dropping signal and said second dropping signal;
- a second amplifier coupled to said dropping means for providing a second signal in response to a positive difference in voltage between said second dropping signal and said first dropping signal;
- a first transistor having a collector coupled to a first power supply voltage terminal, a base for receiving said second signal, and an emitter;
- a second transistor having a first current electrode coupled to said emitter of said first transistor and providing an output signal thereon, a control electrode for receiving said first signal, and a second current electrode coupled through a first resistor to a second power supply voltage terminal;
- a third transistor having a first current electrode coupled to said emitter of said first transistor, a control electrode for receiving a control signal, and a second current electrode coupled through a second resistor to said second power supply voltage terminal;
- and
- a fourth transistor having a first current electrode coupled to said base of said first transistor, a control electrode for receiving said control signal, and a second current electrode coupled to said second power supply voltage terminal.
