Abstract
A compound which, in the free acid form, is of Formula (1): ##STR1## wherein: Z is vinyl, or an ethyl group having a substituent at the 2-position which is capable of being eliminated in the presence of alkali to give a vinyl group; D is substituted or unsubstituted phenylene or naphthylene; K is the residue of a coupling component; R.sup.1 is H, alkyl or substituted alkyl; R.sup.2 is alkyl or substituted alkyl; X is halo or quaternary ammonium; and L is substituted or unsubstituted phenylene. The compound is useful as a dye for the coloration of, for example, cotton, on which it has excellent build up, good fixation efficiency and good wash off properties.
