Abstract
Mineral fillers, pigments and similar materials containing carbonate are described which are characterized in that they have a) a rhombohedral or primarily round particle form b) a steepness factor of between 1.1 and 1.4 c) ##EQU1## and d) an average statistical particle diameter of between 0.4 and 1.5 .mu.m. These materials may be used in the paper industry both as paper fillers and as coating pigments.

Mineral fillers or pigments containing calcium carbonate having
- a) a rhombohedral or round particle shape
- b) a steepness factor (slope) of between 1.1 and 1.4
- c) ##EQU7## and d) an average statistical particle diameter of between 0.4 and 1.5 .mu.m.
