Abstract
The invention relates to a method of treating cardiac ischemic disease using a compound of the formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is hydrogen, lower alkyl, lower alkenyl or N,N-di(lower)alkylaminomethyl, R.sup.2 is hydrogen, lower alkyl or halogen, R.sup.3 is imidazolyl or pyridyl, each of which may have substituent(s) selected from lower alkyl and imino-protective group, and R.sup.4 is hydrogen, lower alkyl, lower alkenyl or hydroxy(lower)alkyl and R.sup.5 is hydrogen, hydroxy or lower alkanoyloxy, or R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 are linked together to form an additional bond, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.
Claims3
A method for treating cardiac ischemic diseases which comprises administering an effective amount of a compound of the formula:
- ##STR4## wherein R.sup.1 is hydrogen, lower alkyl, lower alkenyl or N,N-di(lower)alkylaminomethyl,
- R.sup.2 is hydrogen, lower alkyl or halogen,
- R.sup.3 is imidazolyl or pyridyl, each of which may have substituent(s) selected from lower alkyl and imino-protective group which is selected from mono-, di- or triphenyl(lower)alkyl, N,N-di(lower)alkylsulfamoyl, lower alkanesulfonyl and tosyl, and
- R.sup.4 is hydrogen, lower alkyl, lower alkenyl or hydroxy(lower)alkyl and R.sup.5 is hydrogen, hydroxy or lower alkanoyloxy, or
- R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 are linked together to form an additional bond,
- or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof to a human or animal.
A method for treating cardiac ischemic diseases which comprises administering an effective amount of (+)-8,9-dihydro-10-methyl-7-[(5-methyl-1H-imidazol-4-yl)methyl]pyrido[1,2- a]indol-6(7H)-one or its hydrochloride to a human or animal.
