Abstract
This invention relates to methods of preserving, storing, and using hydroxylamine production catalyst and, more particularly, to methods of preparing, storing, and using such catalyst in substantially oxygen free environments.
Claims10
A method of charging catalyst to a hydroxylamine production cascade which comprises:
- preserving a carbon supported platinum catalyst after manufacture or regeneration in an environment that is substantially free of oxygen in the form of free O.sub.2, and thereafter adding said catalyst to said cascade.
A method of charging a hydroxylamine production cascade comprising:
- depositing a metal catalyst on a carbon support in the presence of an environment that is substantially free of oxygen in the form of O.sub.2, storing said deposited catalyst in a blanket of deionized and deoxygenated water contained in a sealed glass lined vessel and purging said vessel with nitrogen, and adding said catalyst to said cascade and avoiding contacting said catalyst with free oxygen during said addition.
