Method of and system for producing data for numerically controlled machining

A system for producing numerically controlled machining data for controlling a numerically controlled machine tool on the basis of a shape model representing a product to be machined by the numerically controlled machine tool, said system comprising

• a memory means which stores position data of each portion of the product to be machined on the shape model and machining attribute data on contents of machining to be carried out for the portion of the product,
• a machining information file which outputs data on the order in which tools are used and data on a machining condition in response to input of a machining attribute data read out,
• a data converting means which converts the data on the order in which tools are used, the data on the machining condition and the position data of each portion to be machined into numerically controlled machining data conforming to the numerically controlled machine tool, and
• a central processing unit for automatically controlling the operation of the system including executing the input of the data into the memory means, operating the machining information file and controlling the data converting means.
