Abstract
Disclosed is a process for the preparation of alkali metal diarylphosphide compounds wherein at least one of the aryl radicals is substituted with an alkyl group. Also disclosed is the preparation of alkyl(diaryl)phosphine compounds which are obtained by the reaction of the alkali metal diarylphosphide compounds with alkyl halide alkylating agents.
Claims5
Process for the preparation of a triorganophosphine having the formula ##STR14## which comprises the steps of:
- (1) contacting a triarylphosphine having the formula ##STR15## with lithium and a primary or secondary amine in the presence of an inert solvent to obtain an intermediate product solution of a lithium diarylphosphide compound having the structure ##STR16## (2) contacting the intermediate product solution of step (1) with a masked hydrohalogenation agent;
- and
- (3) contacting the product solution of step (2) with an alkylating agent having the formula
