Abstract
Carbon blacks having a CTAB.gtoreq.(I.sub.2 No.+5 m.sup.2 /g); a CDBP.gtoreq.104 cc/100 g; a Tint of (0.5(CTAB)+70 m.sup.2 /g>Tint>0.5(CTAB)+60 m.sup.2 /g) and an ASTM aggregate volume.gtoreq. 480,000 (nm).sup.3. Also disclosed are rubber compositions in which the carbon blacks are incorporated.

Carbon blacks characterized by having a CTAB.gtoreq.(I.sub.2 No.+5 m.sup.2 /g) wherein 105 m.sup.2 /g.gtoreq.CTAB.gtoreq.80 m.sup.2 /g;
- a CDBP.gtoreq.104 cc/100 g;
- a Tint of (0.5(CTAB)+70 m.sup.2 /g>Tint>0.5(CTAB)+60 m.sup.2 /g) and an ASTM aggregate volume.gtoreq.480,000 (nm).sup.3.
A rubber composition comprising about 100 parts, by weight, of a rubber and from about 10 to about 250 parts, by weight, of a carbon black having a CTAB.gtoreq.(I.sub.2 No.+5 m.sup.2 /g) wherein 105 m.sup.2 /g.gtoreq.CTAB.gtoreq.80 m.sup.2 /g;
- a CDBP.gtoreq.104 cc/100 g;
- a Tint of (0.5(CTAB)+70 m.sup.2 /g>Tint>0.5(CTAB)+60 and an ASTM aggregate volume.gtoreq.480,000 (nm).sup.3.
