Abstract
A compound having the formula (I): ##STR1## wherein A is --CH.sub.2 --, R.sup.1 is CH.sub.3 or OCH.sub.3 ; R.sup.2 is hydroxy or carboxy, carboxylic acid or carboxylic acid ester group; R.sup.3 is H or a lower alkyl; and n is 0 or an integer of 1 to 6 or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof.

A compound having the formula (I):
- ##STR93## wherein A is --CH.sub.2 --;
- R.sup.1 is CH.sub.3 or OCH.sub.3 ;
- R.sup.2 is a hydroxy, carboxy, carboxylic acid or carboxylic acid ester group;
- R.sup.3 is H or a lower alkyl;
- and n is 0 or an integer of 1 to 6 and a salt thereof.
A pharmaceutical composition for treating cerebral insufficiency caused by cerebral ischemia comprising an effective amount of a compound of the formula (I) to improve a cerebral insufficiency caused by cerebral ischemia:
- ##STR96## wherein A is --CH.sub.2 --;
- R.sup.1 is CH.sub.3 or OCH.sub.3 ;
- R.sup.2 is a hydroxy, carboxy, carboxylic acid or carboxylic acid ester;
- R.sup.3 is H or a lower alkyl;
- and n is 0 or an integer of 1 to 6 and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier therefor.
A method for treating cerebral insufficiency caused by cerebral ischemia, comprising administering an effective amount of a compound of the formula (I) to improve cerebral insufficiency caused by cerebral ischemia:
- ##STR99## wherein A is --CH.sub.2 --;
- R.sup.1 is CH.sub.3 or OCH.sub.3 ;
- R.sup.2 is a hydroxy, carboxy, carboxylic acid or carboxylic acid ester;
- R.sup.3 is H or a lower alkyl;
- and n is 0 or an integer of 1 to 6 and a salt thereof, to a patient in need of such treatment.
