Abstract
Water soluble salts of a .beta.-polyaspartic acid, i.e., a polyaspartic acid having predominantly beta linkages in the amino acid residue chain thereof, are eminently well suited as dispersants for particulate matter in an aqueous medium.
Claims17
An aqueous suspension of finely divided solid particles which are maintained in suspension by a suspension stabilizing amount of a water soluble salt of polyaspartic acid in which at least 50 percent of the amino acid residue linkages are beta-linkages and having a weight average molecular weight of about 1000 to about 5,000.
