Abstract
The present invention pertains to methods and compositions for inhibiting polymerization of hydrocarbons during processing and storage. The methods comprise adding an effective amount of a hydroxyalkylhydroxylamine compound to the hydrocarbon sought to be treated.

A method for inhibiting the polymerization of hydrocarbon fluids containing dissolved oxygen comprising adding to said hydrocarbon an effective polymerization inhibiting amount of a hydroxyalkylhydroxylamine compound wherein the alkyl has a carbon range from about 2 to about 12.
