Abstract
This invention relates to a solution or plasticized composition comprising one or more polyanilines, and one or more solvents capable of dissolving said polyanilines.
Claims35
A solution comprising:
- (a) a substituted or unsubstituted undoped non-electrically conductive polyaniline;
- and
- (b) a solvent or a mixture of solvents which have a net relative dielectric constant equal to or greater than 5, and a net dipole moment equal to or greater than about 3.5.times.10.sup.-30 Cm, a net volatilization temperature equal to or less than about 250.degree. C., a net hydrogen bonding capability (.gamma..sub.w) of greater than about 50 and a Hildebrand Parameter (.epsilon.) of from about 17 to about 29, said solvent other than dimethyl formamide, N-methylpyrrolidone, pyridine and dimethylsulfoxide, ethanol and chloroform, wherein the relative amounts of said polyaniline and said solvent or mixture are such that said solution has a viscosity of less than about 10,000 centiposie at a temperature less than said volatitization temperature.
