Abstract
Thiopheneazo dye I which are chiefly useful as disperse dyes for dyeing textile material, in particular polyesters, have the formula ##STR1## where the substituents are as defined in the description.
Claims4
A thiopheneazo dye of the general formula I ##STR14## in which the substituents have the following meanings:
- R.sup.1 is cyano;
- R.sup.2 is chlorine, bromine or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl,
- R.sup.3 is cyano or formyl,
- R.sup.4 is hydrogen,
- R.sup.5 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.2 - alkoxy which may be hydroxyl-, C.sub.1 -C.sub.2 -alkoxy- or C.sub.1 -C.sub.2 -alkanoyloxy-substituted, or is C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkanoyloxy or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkanoylamino which may each be substituted by hydroxyl, cyano or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkoxy, or is di-C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkylaminocarbonyloxy,
- R.sup.4 is hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 -alkyl whose carbon chain may be interrupted by one or two oxygen atoms in ether function and which may be hydroxyl- or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkanoyloxy-substituted, or C.sub.3 -C.sub.5 -alk-2-en-1-yl which may be substituted by hydroxyl or chlorine,
- R.sup.7 is hydrogen, halogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl which may be hydroxyl-substituted or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkoxy, and
- R.sup.8 has one of the aforementioned meanings of R.sup.7.
