Abstract
Poly(arylene ether)ketones, polyamides, and poly(benzoxazoles) that contain thiophene rings within the aromatic polymer backbone are disclosed, along with fibers, films, and other articles of manufacture formed therefrom.
Claims15
An aromatic polyamide comprising repeating linked units of the formula:
- --[AB]-- (II)
- wherein A comprises an aromatic diamine unit, said aromatic diamine unit terminating at each end with amine groups;
- wherein B comprises an aromatic dicarbonyl unit containing at least one thiophene ring, said aromatic unit terminating at each end with carbonyl groups;
- and
- wherein A and B are linked by an amide linkage.
