Abstract
The invention provides a method of forming a color image on a recording material by transferring a toner image formed on an image carrying means to the recording material and by fixing the toner image on the recording material. The method further includes adhering a transparent toner layer onto the recording material, and fixing the transparent toner layer together with the toner image on the recording material.
Claims12
An apparatus for forming a color image on a recording material comprising
- an image carrier including an imaging surface on which a toner image is formed;
- a transfer device for transferring said toner image from said imaging surface to said recording material;
- an applier for applying a transparent toner layer on said recording material;
- a control for controlling said applier to apply said transparent toner layer on a part of said recording material, and a reader for reading an original image on a document to be copied and a measuring device for measuring the glossiness of said document, wherein said control controls the applier in accordance with the measured glossiness of said document.
An apparatus for forming a color image on a recording material comprising
- an image carrier including an imaging surface on which a toner image is formed;
- a transfer device for transferring said toner image from said imaging surface of said image carrier to said recording material;
- an applier for applying a transparent toner onto said recording material;
- a reader for reading an image on an original document to be copied on said recording material;
- a discriminator for determining whether said image is a glossy image for a nonglossy image, thereby producing a discrimination result;
- and
- a control for controlling said applier to apply said transparent toner in accordance with said discrimination result.
An apparatus for copying a color image on an original comprising:
- an image carrier including an imaging surface;
- a reader for reading said color image on said original;
- a former for forming a latent image corresponding to said color image on said imaging surface;
- a developing device for developing said latent image with a recording color toner to form a recording color toner image;
- a transfer device for transferring said recording color toner image from said imaging surface to a recording sheet;
- a designating device for designating a glossy region on said original;
- and
- an applier for applying a transparent toner on a part of said recording sheet corresponding to said designated glossy region, whereby a transparent toner can be applied on said recording sheet independently of said reader.
An apparatus for forming a color image on a recording material;
- comprising:
- an image carrier including an imaging surface;
- a reader for reading said color image by a charged coupled device in a form of pixels each including plural color component signals;
- a former for forming plural latent images corresponding to said plural color component signals for each pixel on said imaging surface of said image carrier;
- a developing device for developing said plural latent images with plural color toners so as to superimpose plural color toner images for each pixel on said imaging surface;
- an applier for applying a transparent toner on said imaging surface;
- a process device for processing plural color component signals whereby, when a toner amount of plural color toner images of a pixel is smaller than a predetermined amount, said applier applies said transparent toner on said pixel.
