Abstract
The invention provides a method for synthesizing a porous inorganic solid comprising the steps of: (a) forming a reaction mixture containing water, an alumina source, a silica source, an alkali metal oxide source, and a diquaternary ammonium salt having the formula: ##STR1## wherein R is a diamondoid group, n is from about 1 to about 50, and X is an anion which is not detrimental to the formation of said porous inorganic solid; and (b) recovering a porous inorganic solid from said reaction mixture.
Claims12
A method for synthesizing a porous inorganic solid comprising the steps of:
- (a) forming a reaction mixture containing water, an alumina source, a silica source, an alkali metal oxide source, and a diquaternary ammonium salt having the formula:
- ##STR30## wherein R is a diamondoid group, n is from about 1 to about 50, and X is an anion which is not detrimental to the formation of said porous inorganic solid;
- and
- (b) recovering a porous inorganic solid from said reaction mixture of step (a).
A method for synthesizing a crystalline material comprising the steps of:
- (a) forming a reaction mixture containing water, an alumina source, a silica source, an alkali metal oxide source, and a diquaternary ammonium salt having the formula:
- ##STR31## wherein R is a diamondoid group, n is from about 1 to about 50, and X is an anion which is not detrimental to the formation of said crystalline material;
- and
- (b) crystallizing product selected from the group consisting of materials having the structure of ECR-1, mordenite, or analcime from said reaction mixture of step (a) in the absence of added seed crystals.
