Abstract
In the aqueous polymerization of vinyl fluoride, the use of perfluoroalkylpropylamine salts as emulsifiers permits high yields and excellent polymer color.
Claims7
In a process for the polymerization of vinyl fluoride in an aqueous phase in the presence of an initiator and an emulsifier, the improvement wherein the emulsifier comprises at least one perfluoroalkylpropylamine salt of the general formula F(CF.sub.2 CF.sub.2).sub.n RNH.sub.3 X where R is selected from at least one of CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 and CH.sub.3 CCH.sub.3, n is an integer of from 3 to 5, and X is an anion free from hydrogen atoms susceptible to attack by initiator or polymer radicals.
