Abstract
A process for preparing ethers which comprises contacting a carboxylated ether with a metal oxide catalyst under conditions effective to produce the ether.

A process for preparing ethers which comprises contacting a carboxylated ether with a metal oxide catalyst under decarboxylation conditions effective to produce the ether.
A process for preparing ethers which comprises (i) contacting an active hydrogen-containing compound with a CO.sub.2 synthon under transesterfication conditions effective to produce a carboxylated ether, and (ii) contacting the carboxylated ether with a metal oxide catalyst under decarboxylation conditions effective to produce the ether. with a metal oxide catalyst under conditions effective to produce the ether.
A process for preparing ethers which comprises contacting an active hydrogen-containing compound with a CO.sub.2 synthon in the presence of a metal oxide catalyst under decarboxylation conditions effective to produce the ether.
