Abstract
This disclosure describes novel compounds, [(1,2,3,4,5-pentaalkyl-2,4-cyclopentadien-1-yl)methyl]glycines, the preparation of the new compounds and their use as intermediates for the preparation of N-phosphonomethylglycine.
Claims2
A compound having the structure:
- ##STR6## wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4 and R.sub.5 are C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl and are the same or different;
- and Y is CO.sub.2 R.sub.6, CONR.sub.7 R.sub.8 or CN wherein R.sub.6, R.sub.7 and R.sub.8 are each independently hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl.
