Abstract
The absorbent capacity of superabsorbent materials, as measured under an applied load, is significantly increased by treating the superabsorbent material at a temperature of about 125.degree. C. or greater for a sufficient period of time.
Claims20
A method of treating a once-dried water-insoluble superabsorbent material comprising heating the once-dried water-insoluble superabsorbent material at a temperature of about 125.degree. C. or greater for a time sufficient to increase the two-minute Absorbency Under Load of the superabsorbent material at least about 1 gram per gram.
