Abstract
Terpolymers obtained by polymerizing a mixture of ethylene, vinyl acetate, and isobutyl vinyl ether, a process for their preparation, and methods of their use as additives for mineral oil distillates.
Claims11
A mineral oil distillate comprising 0.001% to 2% by weight, based on said distillate, of the terpolymer prepared from a mixture of monomers comprising ethylene, 5 to 20 mol % of vinyl acetate, and 0.2 to 5 mol % of isobutyl vinyl ether, said terpolymer having a mean molecular weight (M.sub.n) of 500 to 5000 g/mol in dissolved form.
A method for improving the flowability of mineral oil distillates comprising addition of 0.001% to 2% by weight, based on said distillate, of the terpolymer prepared from a mixture of monomers comprising ethylene, 5 to 20 mol % of vinyl acetate, and 0.2 to 5 mol % of isobutyl vinyl ether, said terpolymer having a mean molecular weight (M.sub.n) of 500 to 5000 g/mol.
