A method for obtaining an image comprising information-wise exposing a photographic material containing a silver halide emulsion layer and (a) developing agent(s) and developing said information-wise exposed photographic material according to the silver complex diffusion transfer reversal process while in contact with an image receiving layer containing physical development nuclei wherein complex silver ions are transferred to an image receiving element using an aqueous alkaline processing liquid substantially free of developing agents and phosphate ions and comprising a silver halide solvent and 3-(N,N-diethylamino)propane-1,2-diol in a total amount between 0.1 mol/l to 1.5 mol/l.
