Claims4
A molded article comprising:
- a molded body;
- and
- one or more layers of heat shielding material attached to said molded body, said heat shielding material placed on localized area of said molded article exposed to elevated temperatures, said molded body at least partially impregnating said heat shielding material whereby said heat shielding material is integrally molded within said body.
An automotive structural member comprising:
- a fibrous preform;
- a heat shielding material having a resin impregnable insulating material placed adjacent said fibrous preform, said heat shielding material located on localized areas of said member exposed to elevated temperatures;
- and
- resin impregnating said fibrous preform and said insulating material whereby said insulating material is integrally molded within said member.
