An improved article of the type comprising a plurality of flexible fibrous layers at least two of which are secured together by a securing means, said improvements comprising a securing means which comprises at least two adjacent paths wherein the distance between said paths is less than about 1/8 in.

An improved penetration resistant article of the type comprising a plurality of flexible fibrous layers, at least two of which are secured together by a securing means, the improvement comprising a securing means which extends along at least two adjacent paths wherein the distance between said paths is less than 1/8 in (0.3175 cm).
