A method for producing 2'-deoxy-2'-methylidenecytidine dihydrate, which comprises contacting an aqueous solution containing 2'-deoxy-2'-methylidenecytidine with an anion-exchange resin and concentrating the resulting solution to produce a solid, followed by crystallization of the solid from water.
