Abstract
The invention is concerned with compounds of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4, R.sup.5 and R.sup.6 have the significances given in the description, as well as enol ethers and salts thereof and their manufacture. The compounds have herbicidal properties and are accordingly suitable as active ingredients of weed control compositions. The invention is also concerned with weed control compositions containing one or more of such substances and with the use of the substances or compositions for the control of weeds.

A compound of the formula ##STR18## wherein R.sup.1 signifies hydrogen, C.sub.1-4 -alkyl, C.sub.3 or 4 -alkenyl, C.sub.3 or 4 -alkynyl or C.sub.1-4 -haloalkyl,
- R.sup.2 signifies C.sub.1-6 -alkylsulphonyl-C.sub.1-4 -alkyl, di(C.sub.1-6 -alkyl)phosphono-C.sub.1-4 -alkyl, tri(C.sub.1-6 -alkyl)silyl-C.sub.1-4 -alkyl, C.sub.2-7 -alkanoyl-C.sub.1-4 -alkyl, carboxy-C.sub.1-4 -alkyl, {[C.sub.3-9 -(.alpha.-alkylalkylidene)]iminooxy-(C.sub.1-6 -alkoxy)carbonyl}-C.sub.1-4 -alkyl, (C.sub.3-6 -alkenyloxy)carbonyl-C.sub.1-4 -alkyl, (C.sub.3-6 -alkenyloxy-C.sub.1-4 -alkyl, C.sub.3-8 -cycloalkenyloxy-C.sub.1-4 -alkyl, C.sub.5-8 -cycloalkenyl, C.sub.6-8 -bicycloalkyl, C.sub.6-8 -bicycloalkenyl, C.sub.2-7 -cyanoalkyl or C.sub.3-6 -alkynyloxy-C.sub.1-4 -alkyl,
- R.sup.3 signifies halogen or cyano,
- R.sup.4 signifies hydrogen or halogen,
- R.sup.5 signifies hydrogen, fluorine or C.sub.1-4 -alkyl and
- R.sup.6 signifies C.sub.1-4 -alkyl or C.sub.1-4 -haloalkyl or
- R.sup.5 and R.sup.6 together form trimethylene or tetramethylene, or the corresponding enol ether of a compound of formula I in which R.sup.1 is other than hydrogen or C.sub.1-4 -haloalkyl or a salt of a of formula I in which R.sup.1 signifies hydrogen.
A weed control composition, which comprises effective amount of at least one compound of the formula ##STR19## wherein R.sup.1 signifies hydrogen, C.sub.1-4 -alkyl, C.sub.3 or 4 -alkenyl, C.sub.3 or 4 -alkynyl or C.sub.1-4 -haloalkyl,
- R.sup.2 signifies C.sub.1-6 -alkylsulphonyl-C.sub.1-4 -alkyl, di(C.sub.1-6 -alkyl)phosphono-C.sub.1-4 -alkyl, tri(C.sub.1-6 -alkyl)silyl-C.sub.1-4 -alkyl, C.sub.2-7 -alkanoyl-C.sub.1-4 -alkyl, carboxy-C.sub.1-4 -alkyl, (C.sub.1-6 -alkoxy)carbonyl-C.sub.1-4 -alkyl, {[C.sub.3-9 -(.alpha.-alkylalkylidene)]iminooxy-(C.sub.1-6 -alkoxy)carbonyl}-C.sub.1-4 -alkyl, (C.sub.3-6 -alkenyloxy)carbonyl-C.sub.1-4 -alkyl, (C.sub.3-6 -alkynyloxy)carbonyl-C.sub.1-4 -alkyl, (C.sub.3-8 -cycloalkyloxy)carbonyl-C.sub.1-4 -alkyl, phenoxy-C.sub.1- -alkyl, C.sub.3-6 -alkenyloxy-C.sub.1-4 -alkyl, C.sub.3-8 -cycloalkenyloxy-C.sub.1-4 -alkyl, C.sub.5-8 -cycloalkenyl, C.sub.6-8 -bicycloalkyl, C.sub.6-8 -bicycloalkenyl, C.sub.2-7 -cyanoalkyl or C.sub.3-6 -alkynyloxy-C.sub.1-4 -alkyl,
- R.sup.3 signifies halogen or cyano,
- R.sup.4 signifies hydrogen or halogen,
- R.sup.5 signifies hydrogen, fluorine or C.sub.1-4 -alkyl and
- R.sup.6 signifies C.sub.1-4 -alkyl or C.sub.1-4 -haloalkyl or
- R.sup.5 and R.sup.6 together form trimethylene or tetramethylene, or of an enol ether of such a compound 1 in which R.sup.1 is other than hydrogen or C.sub.1-4 -haloalkyl or of a salt of such a compound I in which R.sup.1 signifies hydrogen, as well as formulation adjuvants.
