Abstract
1,1,1,2,2-Pentafluoro-3,3-dichloropropane and 1,1,2,2,3-pentafluoro-1,3-dichloropropane are prepared by reacting dichlorofluoromethane and tetrafluoroethylene in a solvent in the presence of a catalyst with improved conversion and selectivity.

A process for preparing 1,1,1-2,2-pentafluoro3,3-dichloropropane and 1,1,2,2,3-pentafluoro-1,3-dichloropropane comprising reacting in a reaction system dichlorofluoromethane and tetrafluoroethylene in a solvent in the presence of a Lewis acid catalyst, wherein a concentration of dichlorofluoromethane is not higher than 3% based on a total weight of the reaction system.
