Abstract
Perfluoroalkylated diaminoesitylene and polymers, preferably polyimides, made therefrom. The necessarily obtainable meta-substitution position of the perfluoroalkyl group with respect to both amino-groups provides an improved diamine and compositions of matter resulting therefrom.

A composition of matter comprising the structure:
- ##STR5## wherein Rf is a perfluoroalkyl group containing from 4 to 16 carbon atoms.
A composition of Matter having repeating units of the structure:
- ##STR7## wherein Rf is a perfluoroalkyl group containing from 4 to 16 carbon atoms, R is a tetravalent radical and n is an integer.
