Abstract
The invention relates to the use of 2,5-substituted 1,3,4-thiadiazoles of the formula ##STR1## in which R.sup.1 stands for straight-chain or branched halogenoalkyl, R.sup.2 stands for straight-chain or branched alkyl and n stands for the numbers 1 or 2, as microbicides for protecting industrial materials.
Claims4
A method for protecting industrial materials from attack by slime producing organisms which method comprises contacting the industrial material with an effective amount of a 2,5-substituted 1,3,4-thiadiazole of the formula ##STR22## in which R.sup.1 is a straight-chain or branched halogenalkyl,
- R.sup.2 is a straight-chain or branched alkyl and
- n is 1 or 2.
A material for the protecting of an industrial material from attack by slime producing organisms which comprises from 1-95% by weight, relative to the total weight of the material, of a 2,5-substituted 1,3,4-thiadiazole of the formula ##STR23## in which R.sup.1 is a straight-chain or branched halogenalkyl,
- R.sup.2 is a straight-chain or branched alkyl and
- n is 1 or 2,
- and 99-5% by weight of customary extenders and diluents.
