Abstract
Compositions of a) thermosetting plastics or thermoplastics, and a mixture of such plastics, and b) a superconducting compound having a transition temperature T.sub.c of at least 20 K are suitable as moulding materials for the production of articles for magnetic screening of static magnetic fields and for transmitting of magnetic and electrical forces.
Claims21
A composition containing a) 10 to 80% by weight of a plastic selected from the group consisting of a thermosetting plastic, a mixture of thermosetting plastics, a mixture of different thermoplastics and a mixture of thermosetting plastics and thermoplastics and
- b) mixed therewith, 90 to 20% by weight of a superconducting compound which is selected from the group consisting of 1) a cuprate having a K.sub.2 NiF.sub.4 structure of the formula La.sub.2-w M.sub.w CuO.sub.4-.delta. wherein M is Ca, Sr or Ba, w is between 0.05 and 1.1 and .delta. is the oxygen deficit;
- 2) M'Cu.sub.3 O.sub.x wherein x is a number of 6.7 to 7.3 and M'is Ba.sub.2 Y, Ba.sub.2 Eu, Ba.sub.2 La, Ba.sub.1.8 La.sub.1.2, BaCaLa, BaCaY, Ba.sub.2 Y.sub.0.75 Sc.sub.0.25, Ba.sub.2 Eu.sub.0.75 Sc.sub.0.25, Ba.sub.2 Y.sub.0.5 La.sub.0.5, Ba.sub.1.5 Sr.sub.0.5 Y,Ba.sub.2 Eu.sub.0.9 Pr.sub.0.1, Ba.sub.2 Eu.sub.0.9 Y.sub.0.1 or Ba.sub.2 Eu.sub.0.75 Y.sub.0.25 and 3) Ba.sub.2 YCu.sub.3 F.sub.2 O.sub.y wherein y has a value such that T.sub.c is greater than or equal to 155K.
