Abstract
The present invention provides an immune reactive porous carrier material comprising a porous carrier material with immune complexes precipitated thereon, wherein the porous carrier material is treated with at least one wet-strength agent. The present invention also provides processes for the production of this immune reactive porous carrier material.

Immune reactive porous carrier comprising a fiber containing porous carrier material having precipitated immune-complexes adsorbed thereon, wherein said fiber containing porous carrier has a density of from 0.2 to 0.5 g/cm.sup.3 and has been pretreated with a wet strength agent prior to adsorption of said precipitate of said immune-complexes wherein said wet strength agent is selected from a group consisting of an epichlorohydrin resin, a melamine-formaldehyde resin, a ureaformaldehyde resin, a polyethyleneimine and carboxymethylcelluose.
