New halogenovinyl-azole derivatives of the formula ##STR1## in which R.sup.1 represents optionally substituted alkyl, optionally substituted alkenyl, optionally substituted cycloalkyl or optionally substituted aryl, or represents optionally substituted heteroaryl, R.sup.2 represents hydrogen, alkyl, alkenyl, acyl or aralkyl X.sup.1 represents halogen, X.sup.2 represents halogen, X.sup.3 represents hydrogen or halogen Y represents nitrogen or a CH group, and acid addition salts and metal salt complexes thereof are very effective for combating microbes in plant protection and in the preservation of materials.
