Abstract
Structures, including covers, labels, toys and figurines, have fluorescent and phosphorescent materials that emit and reflect light to provide a sense of identity, security, comfort, and amusement. The cover in the form of a blanket has a protective grid of phosphorescent material that when exposed to light and placed in a dark environment emits light for a period of time. The protective grid is a pattern of intersecting ribbons of phosphoresent material anchored to and covering substantially one surface of a fabric. The protective grid provides a visual light shield that creates an image of protection and is useable for amusement and entertainment.
Claims7
A structure comprising:
- a product label including a sheet member having a surface, first means of phosphorescent material anchored to the surface to form a first visual light image thereon whereby when the structure is exposed to a lighted environment and subsequently to a dark environment the phosphorescent material emits light creating said visual light image, said first means including a background design on said surface, and second means of fluorescent material secured to the surface spaced from the first means to form a second visual light image, said second means including readable information means surrounded by said background design, said second means reflecting visible light and said first means emitting visible light of said image when subjected to light in the ultra violet wavelength range.
A label for use with a structure for accommodating a product comprising:
- a sheet member adapted to be attached to said structure, said sheet member having a surface, first means of phosphorescent material anchored to said surface to form a first visual light means thereon whereby when the label is exposed to a lighted environment and subsequently to a dark environment the phosphorescent material emits light creating said visual light means, and second means of fluorescent material secured to the surface to form a second visual light means hereon, said second means reflecting visible light and said first means emitting visible light when subjected to light in the ultra violet wavelength range.
