Abstract
Antidepressant agents having the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is a polycycloalkyl group; R.sup.2 is methyl or ethyl, X is O; and Y comprises a 5-membered heterocyclic ring having one or two nitrogens.

A compound having the formula ##STR16## wherein R.sup.1 is a tricycloalkyl or bicycloalkyl group having from 7 to 11 carbon atoms, or indan-2-yl;
- R.sup.2 is methyl or ethyl;
- X is O;
- and
- Y is ##STR17## R.sup.3 is hydrogen, (C.sub.1-5)alkyl, (C.sub.2-5)alkenyl, benzyl or phenethyl;
- R.sup.4 is hydrogen, (C.sub.1-5)alkyl, (C.sub.1-5)alkanoyl, or benzoyl;
- a pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt of said compound having a basic nitrogen atom;
- or the racemic-diastereomeric mixtures and optical isomers of said compounds.
