Ink, and recording process using the same

An ink comprising a dye and a liquid medium, wherein said dye is a dye of Formula (I):

• ##STR7## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 represent independently an alkyl group, an alkoxy group or an acetylamino group;
• R.sub.3 represents --SO.sub.3 M or a hydrogen atom;
• R.sub.4 represents a hydrogen atom, --SO.sub.3 M or --NHR.sub.5, where R.sub.5 represents a hydrogen atom, a phenyl group that may have a substituent, or a group of the formula ##STR8## where R.sub.6 and R.sub.7 represent independently a hydrogen atom or --C.sub.2 H.sub.4 OH;
• M represents an alkali metal, an ammonium group or an organic ammonium group;
• and l, m and n represent independently an integer of 0 or 1, wherein said dye is contained in an amount ranging from 0.1 to 15% by weight based on the total weight of the ink, and wherein said liquid medium comprises a water-soluble organic solvent and water.
