Abstract
Olefin complexing reagents comprising Cu(I) carboxylate/BF.sub.3 adducts in aromatic solvents and a method of preparation therefor, and use of said reagents in the separation of olefins from paraffins are provided.
Claims5
A process for preparing an olefin complexing reagent comprising contacting a copper(I) carboxylate under an inert atmosphere and in an aromatic solvent with an excess of BF.sub.3 to form an adduct of the copper(I) carboxylate and BF.sub.3 respectively, in a 1:2 molar ratio.
An olefin complexing reagent which consisting essentially of a 1:2 molar ratio copper(I) carboxylate/BF.sub.3 Adduct in an aromatic solvent.
