The present invention relates to a process for producing a resin useful in plastic lenses, to plastic lenses containing the resin and to a process for producing the lenses.

A plastic lens comprising the reaction product of one or more isothiocyanate compounds with one or more active hydrogen containing compounds selected from the group consisting of polyol compounds, polythiol compounds and hydroxy compounds containing mercapto group.
A process for producing a plastic lens comprising adding at least one internal mold releasing agent to a mixture of one or more isothiocyanate compounds and one or more active hydrogen containing compounds selected from the group consisting of polyol compounds, polythiol compounds and hydroxy compounds containing mercapto group followed by casting polymerization.
