Abstract
A process for polymerizing or copolymerizing ethylene, either alone or in combination with other olefins, comprising contacting said ethylene or alpha-olefin, either alone or in combination with other olefins, with a catalyst comprising a cyclopentadienyl-transition metal compound and an alumoxane compound at an elevated temperature and pressure and wherein the ratio of aluminum in the alumoxane to the total metal in the metallocene is in the range of 1000:1 to 0.5:1.
Claims16
A process for polymerizing ethylene, either alone or in combination with one or more other olefins, said process comprising contacting said ethylene either, alone or in combination with one or more other olefins, with a catalyst comprising a cyclopentadienyl-group 4b transition metal compound and an alumoxane wherein the molar ratio of aluminum in the alumoxane to the total metal in the transition metal compound is in the range of 1000:1 to 0.5:1 at a temperature greater than 120.degree. C. and a pressure of about 500 bar or greater.
