Abstract
1,1,1-trifluoro-2-propene compounds which are useful in the preparation of insecticidal, acaricidal and nematicidal arylpyrrole compounds are described. A method for the preparation of 1,1,1-trifluoro-2-propene compounds is presented.

A compound having the structure:
- ##STR22## wherein X is Cl, Br or I;
- Y is CN or C(O)R.sub.1 ;
- R.sub.1 is hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl;
- and the cis and trans isomers thereof.
