Abstract
A magnetic recording medium comprising a non-magnetic substrate and a magnetic layer composed of a ferromagnetic material having a face-centered cubic structure and at least one of a carbon, silicon, a hydrocarbon compound and an organosilicone compound, provided on the non-magnetic substrate, has a high coercive force, a good head running property and a high durability.
Claims19
A magnetic recording medium, which comprises a non-magnetic substrate and a magnetic layer comprised of a ferromagnetic material grown substantially perpendicular on said substrate having a face-centered cubic structure and at least one of carbon, silicon, a hydrocarbon compound and an organosilicon compound, provided on said non-magnetic substrate.
A magnetic recording medium which comprises a non-magnetic substrate and a magnetic layer comprising (a) a ferromagnetic material having a face-centered cubic structure, (b) either carbides or silicides or both of said ferromagnetic material, (c) either amorphous carbon or amorphous silicon or both, and (d) either hydrocarbon compounds or organosilicon compounds or both, provided on the non-magnetic substrate.
