Unit-dose drycleaning product and method

A drycleaning product for delivering a premeasured amount of a drycleaning additive into a drycleaning system during the drycleaning cycle, said product comprises a drycleaning additive contained within a tub sealed with a tub top, said tub being comprised of a polystyrene and having a wall thickness of between about 10 mils to about 20 mils, said tub top being comprised of a polystyrene film and having a thickness of between about 3 mils to about 10 mils.

A unit-dose drycleaning product for delivering a premeasured amount of a drycleaning detergent into a drycleaning system during the drycleaning cycle, said unit-dose drycleaning product comprises:

• a premeasured amount of a drycleaning detergent in a form of a liquid or semi-solid at room temperature;
• and
• a sealed water insoluble article having a wall defining a hollow interior which contains said drycleaning detergent wherein at least a portion of said wall is formed of a material which dissolves in a drycleaning solvent during the drycleaning cycle for releasing said drycleaning detergent.

A method of introducing a drycleaning additive in a premeasured amount into a drycleaning solvent during a drycleaning cycle, said method comprises:

• inserting a sealed article into a drycleaning machine containing garments to be cleaned, the sealed article containing a drycleaning additive therein where at least a portion of the sealed article is formed of a material which dissolves in the drycleaning solvent during the drycleaning cycle for releasing said drycleaning additive;
• and
• contacting the sealed article with the drycleaning solvent in the drycleaning machine during the drycleaning cycle to dissolve the material for releasing the drycleaning additive contained in the sealed article therefrom and into the drycleaning solvent to clean the garments.
