Abstract
A process for the preparation of an amine complex of a metal halide which comprises reacting said metal with an amine hydrohalide. The process can be extended to the use of metals such as aluminum, magnesium, zinc, iron, and the like.
Claims19
Process for the preparation of an organic amine complex of a metal halide, other than aluminum halide, said process comprising reacting a reactant mixture composed of the metal and an organic amine hydrohalide selected from a primary organic amine hydrohalide, a secondary organic amine hydrohalide, and a tertiary organic amine hydrohalide.
Process for preparation of an organic amine complex of zinc halide, said process comprising reacting a reactant mixture composed of zinc and an organic amine hydrohalide selected from a primary organic amine hydrohalide, a secondary organic amine hydrohalide, and a tertiary organic amine hydrohalide.
A composition of matter having the formula MX.sub.y .multidot.YA.multidot.ZHX wherein M is magnesium, or iron, X is a chloride or bromide ion;
- y is the valence or the metal M;
- Y is 1 or 2;
- A is an amine;
- and Z is 0, 1 or 2.
