Abstract
This invention relates to certain novel di- and tetra-fluoro analogs of squalene and to their methods of use in lowering plasma cholesterol and in inhibiting squalene epoxidase in patients in need thereof.
Claims7
A compound of the formula ##STR7## wherein each dotted line independently may be either a single or double bond,
- R.sub.1 is --CH.dbd.CF.sub.2, --CH.dbd.CR.sub.3 R.sub.4 or --R.sub.5 --OH, wherein R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are alkylene, and
- each R.sub.2 is independently hydrogen or methyl.
