A water weight for aerobic water exercise having a generally rectilinear shape, said weight comprising at least one handle, a pair of opposed inwardly curving leg grip surfaces, and one or more externally accessible weight pockets extending substantially across said rectilinear shape for receiving supplemental weights to adjust the buoyancy of said water weight.
